Everyone, from the oldest to the smallest, knows what happened that night in July 1982, when the 22 Italian boys climbed to the top of the world, at the end of an exciting journey. It was the football artwork that marked the sporting history of our country and the vivid blue of the Le Coq Sportif jerseys, worn on the famous Madrid night, shines in the memory of those who lived those moments and in the eyes of most young.
Forty years later, the historic sportswear brand celebrates the legends of 1982 and the immortal games of that unforgettable summer.
To pay homage to those moments, unique as collector’s items to be exhibited in a museum, a dedicated capsule collection was created in collaboration with the A.S. Velasca (“the most artistic club in the world” and partner of Le Coq Sportif since 2017) and with numerous artists on the international scene, thus creating a bridge between the past and the present of the brand.
The reversible white full-zip sweatshirt is the flagship item of this capsule, it is a tribute to the outfit with which Marco Tardelli and his teammates sang the anthem before the start of the matches.
One side is a vivid and faithful reminder of the 1982 sweatshirt embellished with straight blue lines on the collar, on the bases of the sleeves and on the waist.
The other side is a tale of the historic stages that marked the journey towards the final victory against Germany. The drawings of the artist Emmanuel Mousset (made with China ink) retrace the best known deeds of the 82 legends on the pitch, revisited with a unique style: from the exultation of Marco Tardelli after the famous 2-0 goal in the final , to the stringent markings on Maradona.
