Everyone, from the oldest to the smallest, knows what happened that night in July 1982, when the 22 Italian boys climbed to the top of the world, at the end of an exciting journey. It was the football artwork that marked the sporting history of our country and the vivid blue of the Le Coq Sportif jerseys, worn on the famous Madrid night, shines in the memory of those who lived those moments and in the eyes of most young.
Forty years later, the historic sportswear brand celebrates the legends of 1982 and the immortal games of that unforgettable summer.
To pay homage to those moments, unique as collector’s items to be exhibited in a museum, a dedicated capsule collection was created in collaboration with the A.S. Velasca (“the most artistic club in the world” and partner of Le Coq Sportif since 2017) and with numerous artists on the international scene, thus creating a bridge between the past and the present of the brand.
The t-shirt takes up the traditional colors of the racing jerseys and, mirroring the logo of the technical partner, stands out the historic tricolor shield with the white Velasca tower supporting the year of victory. The crest was designed by the young designer Thomas Signollet.
An 82/22, created by the artist Patrizia Novello, with a relief effect in green-white-red tones is placed in the center and on the back of the home shirt; in blue and gray shades (like the color of the shirt worn by the goalkeeper) on the away shirt: a celebration of the anniversary that incorporates the numerator of the substitutions of the A.S. Velasca (first work of art by the Milanese team, created by the artist herself).
