Like CR7, azulejos are a Portuguese treasure. They are both iconic pillars and examples of excellence that the whole world admires and that continue to inspire new generations. We took visual inspiration from the warm, ocean tones of the tiles and integrated them into our fastest shoe. Thanks to the new Nike Air Zoom unit specifically designed for football, it is light and stable enough to allow you to give your all in the game when it matters most.

 

Azulejos are the traditional blue glazed ceramic tiles ubiquitous in Portuguese culture. Symbol of national pride, they cover the side facades of churches and palaces, embellish railway stations, bars, restaurants or park benches and sidewalks. We have integrated the layered blue shades with a coppery edge and the glossy coating typical of glazed surfaces. A one-of-a-kind graphic blends the typical azulejo motifs with details that recall some of the models worn by CR in the past.

For the first time in its history, Nike has integrated an all-new Air Zoom unit into the heel, specifically designed for football. The unit is positioned in the sole plate and offers extra responsive cushioning for those playing on particularly hard surfaces and terrains.

We have updated the differential, completely renewing it to adapt it even better to the foot. After a long experimentation, conducted with the collaboration of hundreds of athletes, and several trial tests and iterations, we have created a more shaped toe and improved stability in the heel.

The speed cage inside the structure is made of a thin but strong material that holds the foot on the sole plate without adding weight, for ideal stability.

NikeSkin is a soft and flexible mesh material held together by a thin lining. This is an upper that really gives the feeling of playing football in bare feet.
